Bus Lane

Following the success of bus lane fines, Council bosses are planning to extend the practice of using fines to pay for public services.

One of them told us: "It makes logical sense to hypothecate revenue. For example, using bus lane fines to pay for bus travel for the disabled, litter fines to pay for clearing up fly-tipping, fines for violent behaviour to fund police patrols on Saturday nights and council tax payers' money to promote and defend John Howarth's pet projects sent out in council tax statements prior to an election."
