Reading Monopoly is very easy to play

However, there are a few changes from the normal game:

  • Everyone must go around the board, one way… anti-clockwise.
  • Peter Brett Associates own all the utilities
  • Tesco have already bought all the vacant properties.
  • The player with the travellers token may land on any property without a penalty.
  • If you roll a double it’s alternate weekly collection day; lose a turn as the bin men slap a contaminated recycling sticker on your bin.
  • Free parking is replaced by a £60 fine
  • If you land on Reading, Reading West, Tilehurst or Green Park your train is late and you must leave the room for 30 minutes.
  • After demolishing four houses, you may build a hotel or yuppie rabbit hutches if you have a planning permission card. If you don’t have a planning permission card you may build two hotels.
